Monk Fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii), also known as Luo Han Guo, has been cultivated in the mountain regions of southern China and northern Thailand for centuries. It has traditionally been used as a natural sweetener in making tea and other drinks. Renowned for its intense sweetness without the calories or blood sugar spikes associated with traditional sugars, it has gained popularity as a healthier alternative to artificial sweeteners. Monk Fruit contains compounds called mogrosides, primarily mogroside V, which are responsible for its sweet taste. Our Monk Fruit Extract powder is standardized to 7% mogrosides, about 20 times sweeter than table sugar. It can be used in combination with other intense sweeteners like stevia extract to achieve a more balanced sweetness profile.
